Your Circle Must-Have these Kind of Friends
You are the company you keep. Your company is your circle. A circle is a group of close friends that you intentionally want and keep around you. The foundation of a circle is solidified by loyalty, love, success, support, and all things that make us better people.
Our circle helps us stay grounded. A group of people supporting us when we need cheering on. A group of people holding us accountable for our actions. A group of people keeping us encouraged when we feel like giving up. Simply a group pushing us forward.
You may already have an idea of who is a part of your circle. However, sometimes you might not have a solid circle or you might be discovering yours. Whatever situation you are in, here is a list of tips to help you choose the best people for your circle.
You need someone that’s ‘Bout it. ‘Bout it.
Legendary rapper Master P introduced the phrase ‘Bout it. ‘Bout it. (meaning down to do whatever) in his 90’s hit ‘Bout it. ‘Bout it. Shout out to Master P because every group needs a person that’s ‘Bout it. ‘Bout it.
The benefits are endless when you have a person in your circle that’s down to do whatever. You can call this person for last-minute road trips, late-night fast food runs, protests, parades, baby showers, to get your things back after a breakup. Whatever. This person will have your back even when you have gotten on their last nerve. This person understands you and vice versa. They are down for anything you are for. Sometimes they may even push you out of your comfort zone.
Your circle needs someone that’s ‘Bout it. ‘Bout it.
You need a great listener.
I’m sure all your friends are good listeners. *wink wink* But every circle needs a great listener. By great, I mean someone that is not only listening to what you say but they hear you when you are not speaking. They are capable of paying close attention to your verbal and nonverbal queues. This person is not judgemental. They are always available to hear your side of the story. Even if it’s 3 a.m., they are there to listen.
Get someone in your crew with some great listening skills.
You need someone with the gift of gab.
This person is very knowledgeable about what, when, and how to say everything. They always know the best time to tell you what you want to hear. They also tell you what you need to hear. They are capable of talking you out of traffic tickets. Talking their way into VIP at events. They may be able to coach you on your work presentations. They are that good.
Add you a talker to the crew.
You need a thorough planner.
One of life’s many promises are things to plan. Trips, parties, weddings, graduation parties, ladies night out and many other unique events. You need a planner in your circle. Having a planner on your team is heaven-sent. This person will understand how to bring your vision to life. They will understand how to arrange the best hotels, negotiate the best prices and make sure the itinerary runs smoothly. You can remain calm because this person will likely handle everything.
You need a planner because they have plan A-to-Z ready to go.
You need a dancer.
You need someone in your circle that knows how to dance. The dancer in your circle will remind you to get off the wall. This person will ensure that you are getting every bit of your monies worth when you go out. This person is your stress reliever. They make sure you remember to dance yourself out of any negative moods.
Add someone to the crew that can shake something.
You need a business-minded go-getter.
You need somebody in your crew reminding you that the goal is always business. This person keeps you grounded in securing financial freedom. They are knowledgeable about different areas of business that will keep you focused. Marketing strategies. Branding techniques. Business pitches. Public speaking pointers. This person can help you take your business ideas to the next level.
Get you a friend that’s about their business.
Based on the tips above, you need about six people in your circle. However, having a quality circle is way more important than quantity. You might notice that you already have people in your circle who are multi-talented. You might have three solid people in your crew, who have all the qualities mentioned.
Please note, that this list is not exhaustive. Some people can add unimaginable value to your circle. Know what you are looking for and give people a chance. No matter what, surround yourself with people who support, encourage and love you.
Factsss!!!!!!!!
Thank you!!
